@KasmirKhaan the intuition behind quotient is to "make something zero"
if I do Z/(3), then I'm saying, "now I'm going to make 3 into 0, and see what will happen"
i.e. follow the ring axioms and see what more identifications we would have to make
well if 3=0, then 4=1, etc
if 3=0, then 6=3+3=0+0=0, etc
