@b_jonas you.... kinda completely missed the point I fear.

Traditionally, there have been only 7 chaos Emeralds + a single "Master" Emerald.

If those "cyberspace levels" are used to acquire an Emerald, that would point to the existence of a single level per emerald. So, only 7 levels for 7 emeralds. At that point either they pull out the "super emerald" thing from Sonic3 & Knuckles again in order to be able to have 7*2=14 special stages or they would have to find another way to "steal" your emeralds in order to have more special stages
