This has become fairly frequent, @Xander. But if you can't do anything, you can't do anything. The last time I twice downvoted a user, mods were all fire and brimstone in lashing out at me. All I ask is that you protect loyal trusted users as much as you'll bend over backwards...

... to cow-toe to irate and ranting newish users. (meant to write "you all"), given that one mod's action auto becomes "all mods actions" despite that this is not at all true. You all observe what the police call the blue code of silence, better let's call it the diamond code of silence, where you accept the terms that you must respect this and accept any decision by any one or more mods.

@Xander, so on meta you instruct users who post about downvotes to flag mods, and the you close their questions, and then when they flag, you tell them "likely nothing we can do." Why don't you just tell them from the get go "likely there's nothing we can do?" And then proceed to delete every such post on meta? After all, you think it's all futile. Thanks for your words of discouragement.
