@fixer1234, actually I've seen few older posts (2 to 5 years old) are on active page, recently I've posted answer for it also. The reason I'm asking is, my many of good in fact correct answers have had not got enough attention. So if it could be reviewed then it might get some appreciation. ☺

@RajeshS, usually, old posts on the main page are due to bumping. Either the community bot picking threads for attention, or someone adding an answer or modifying one of the posts on the thread. Sometimes, somebody adds a low quality answer that is quickly deleted, so it isn't obvious why the thread was bumped in you have <10K rep.
Bumping for the sake of bumping is frowned upon, but if you can find any way to "improve" an old post, that will bump it to the main page.
Most of the questions you answer are Excel problems. For some reason (maybe because the Excel users stay active), voting on Excel answers long after posting doesn't seem to happen much. People see them at posting time and are already familiar with what's been posted. But a radically improved solution sometimes attracts new attention.

@RajeshS, many of your answers might not get a lot of appreciation for a couple of other reasons. One is that you try to be helpful to users posting poor quality questions. That's noble, but they often aren't appreciative, and the questions don't attract attention from a lot of other users. The other factor is that many of your answers are good quality answers and good solutions, but not for the specific question you answer. (cont'd)
They might be a good solution for a different question or situation, but not a good match for the question you answer. Sometimes that's an attempt to provide another solution to a question that already has the "best" answer, so it might be an esoteric solution that's technically correct, but the OP would never use it for their situation. (cont'd)
A lot of times, someone will beat me to the finish with an answer that's better than the one I'm working on. In that case, I just upvote their solution and don't bother with mine. Just because you start on an answer doesn't mean you have to actually post something if it won't add value to what's already there. (cont'd)
All that said, if you have some answers that you think are good, a good fit for the question, and didn't get any attention, look for ways to polish them, add explanation, etc. That will bump them and then see what happens.
