@Fluttershy I won't suspend users because they're low-level disruptive over a longer time if I don't know the whole history. This is about stopping the immediate problem, not acting on the big problem, which I'll leave to the Gaming mods. We can just ignore the room and wait until it's bad enough that stuff gets flagged, but then the dice decide who gets suspended
@MadScientist I rather think I'd prefer the latter option. I don't want to shout "Help help I'm being repressed!" But... The most recent timeout was absolutely unnecessary, and the previous lack of action followed by a sudden call-to-arms just seems disrespectful, really... I'm not a five year old. Don't punish me or the rest of the room for the actions of one person.
@Fluttershy That's why I just nuked all messages to stop the discussion at some point, but that's an even more destructive option than time-out, if a bit fairer, I think.
@badp What he did was worse than nothing. He essentially came in and actively antagonized those of us who were seeking a resolution.
If the best you can contribute is "Wait till a gaming mod shows up", you're better off not bothering to wade in knee deep before making that pronouncement if you're a complete unknown.
@MadScientist and to be honest, freezing the bridge would have been less abusive than sitting there announcing you're not going to do anything in front of the people at fault
I'm not sure what the hell you expect a non-gaming mod to do. The stuff that was happening at that time only was not suspension-worthy. The whole backstory and everything together is problematic, for sure and might merit further action. But that is not something that has to happen immediately. The idea behind the network-wide chat moderation is to deal with immediate problems, not with long-term problematic user behaviour
And there were a few messages that would be suspension-worthy from Bridge regulars which I deleted without suspension. I don't think there is any side in this drama that gets away entirely blame-free
@MadScientist I understand why you took the stance that you took and accept your reasons why, I just think that inaction is worse than allowing what has been going on for the last few days
@LessPop_MoreFizz you are working tomorrow with the amount you have drunk?
I don't think you'll actually get out of bed, let alone make it to work
@kalina Freezing a main chat for a longer time is pretty much unprecedented, in retrospect I would have just nuked even more messages to stop the whole thing earlier
Room owners: I have gifted you the powers of the Android Hell. Use them wisely.
If you're a room owner and you see a fellow room owner doing weird shit. Click on their avatar and pick 'remove room owner.' OR I REMOVE YOU BOTH!!!!11one
There's going to be so much mod abuse tonight. It's going to be glorious.
@badp You know that one time I said you should never ever give me room owner permission because I'll probably add r/mylittlepony's /new feed to the room's feed list?
