@Scientist I don't live in Beijing now. I have been to Beijing years ago for a series of conferences and school. That visit left me deep impression of Beijing. I think I like the ancient wonders very much but don't like its education system that much. I feel food in Beijing generally very rough, but I don't mind that very much, because I am not an epicurean. However, a good advantage of Beijing food is the amount is very large so that I can always feel fill, that's my main purpose of eating.

I have once been left outside in night due to missing bus. I feel the night of Beijing very boring---most shops are closed and wonders all close. I don't notice any pub in Beijing but I have never been interested in pubs.

I don't know the house rent in Beijing because I was offered housing throughout the conferences and school by the organizers in their institute.

I know cabs in Beijing are everywhere but the drivers seem not to be very fair in charging customers money.

I heard Hong Kong is a place mainly for shopping. If that's the case, I may not like it particularly. I prefer wonders and natural scenery.
