I do wish there was a simpler way to do it, but I'm not aware of any coin that makes it easy to access
Chain stats seem to be a low priority area for most teams

yeah, I guess there are enough open source block explorers out there that it's not really necessary to include it as a feature of the node software. Like Esplora, I haven't tried it but it looks decent: github.com/Blockstream/esplora

Explorers are fun to build, quite easy to get into stuff that turns out to be non-trivial once you get bast the basic input/output list

speaking of block explorers, this command looks interesting: bitcoincore.org/en/doc/0.18.0/rpc/blockchain/scantxoutset haven't seen that before

@RaghavSood it’s easier to perpetuate scams if you keep your users in the dark. Why spend time and effort on useful stats when you could spend it on marketing fluff instead?
