@RaghavSood Just glanced at it, looks neat. The user that asked the original question is apparently disgruntled by your "attempt to take all zhe internet pointz for yourself".
I'm considering merging your question into his, although they're not perfect matches, and I significantly prefer your question text…

On the other hand, the user that does the work should get the points and the original question is not particularly comprehensible.
@RaghavSood: What do you think?

@RaghavSood I would add "...and verify the signature and hashes of the wallet client after downloading it only from a trusted original source."
@RaghavSood Cold storage could also refer to (or it used to) a wallet that is not online itself such as Armory.
@RaghavSood typo in peer-revied

@Murch I'm not super worried about the points, I've got my fill of those from SO. If you think the site is better served by merging the questions, perhaps we can edit the original one to have a better, more searchable text.
@Willtech Roger that, I will make some updates to improve the phrasing/content, thank you!

nice work on the answer. I have a couple small suggestions for it for you to consider:
- I would typically call something like blockchain.info a 'hosted wallet', and something like coinbase.com a 'custodial wallet'. Wallets like bitocin-qt, electrum, etc are what i would call 'local hot wallets'.
- Your other sections have good detail, but you dont say as much about the 'local hot wallets'. May be worth mentioning what is involved in running a node, and SPV wallets in this section as well?
- The part on exchanges is good, but you never mention why exchanges are inherently more risky: they are honeypots for hackers. Why hack an individual and get a couple coins, when you could hack an exchange and get thousands? I think that could help a reader gain perspective

@RaghavSood I made a couple of smallish changes, essentially just grammatical and formatting. I hope you don't mind!

Not at all, thank you!

@Murch was it busier in the past? I like that its not just a debate on price & trading, seems like so many other bitcoin forums just turn into that

I remember first reading about ASIC-resistance, I thought "that seems like a good idea". Then later I read the argument that "ASIC resistance is impossible, the harder you make it to build an ASIC, the smaller number of people will have the resources to do so", which I saw as a great counter argument. Seems like that concern has been fully realized, according to the author of that article. Interesting read, very eye opening.
