Just some day ago you notice the same "FateOfMuffin" user ranting about them updating the last "untouched" game mode with another horrible change
If I am correct, this means that in rapid sequence every single mode in the game was hit by huge toxic nerfs that hit EVERY player, whales included.
The "Pirate Adventure" mode had the turtle change, moving some rewards behind some requirements that are basically impossible even for whales with every boster.
The "Treasure Map" just had a "Super" Treasure map mode that removed some rewards, made the bosses more toxic (the bosters this time were "SUPER" sugo rare, that based on my understanding are harder to get than normal rare)
If you see the post I linked, the usual user calculated that you need like 100 runs of the same level (and remind, this is one hundred runs of a macro since there is no "try something different this time" - either you repeat the same actions in the same order every time or you die)
Yet, since the event has the usual gacha stamina requirement (running the event once consumes a stamina resource, you can either wait for it to be restored at a low speed or pay for refill - this is quite common in gacha games) without paying it is probably impossible to reach that many runs
You have a first banner with all the three new units and no guarantee at all. Alongside these units you can also get OLDER rare units. While this is good on paper, usually the "pool" of available units is purposely made to be bad, and filled with 5+ years old useless units.
Then you have 3 separate banners. Here the pool is a little better but there is a catch: on each banner you can get only ONE of the three new units. There is a pity - usually at 30 pulls (== 500$ on average if you spend) but it is not shared (so you can't pull on banner A then move to B and keep your counter).
Either pull on the fist bad banner, hope to get something but risk to be scammed since there is no pity and the pool is trash or try to split your pulls between THREE separate banners and never reach the pity anyway unless you spend.
- have few character and split banners that only have one character available. See Genshin. This means that if you miss a Klee you can't get a Klee again until her banner returns months later. This IS fomo, but at least you technically don't NEED Klee since these games usually have little powercreep and more importantly due to the low by comparison number of characters you don't need specific units to play an event.
- have tons of character, banners include the new characters AND older characters. This is common in card games like OPTC. Usually this comes with a "new units are boosted" gimmik that artificially make older, no longer boosted units value go down. Yet this means that if you miss an unit on a banner... you can hope to get it while pulling for a newer unit on the next one.
Tons of cards released at overwhelming speed so that F2P players can't keep up AND .... being available only during super sugo.

Worth also noticing that while the Japanese faqs page mentions refunding unspent premium currency (just run it in google translate) the English version does not

first issue: the items. Will you be stuck with what you have at the end? in that case it is no worth playing a game where you can't get anything new. But if you can get new items after shutdown, then it means that the standalone game will include items that whales have paid thousands of $$ for a fraction of the price...

@SPArcheon-onstrike it seems like very uncertain. They promise to make an announcement in October. They might or might not. If they do, they will probably say "game will be available by <date>". Then that might or might not end up being true. Then if it's true it might still happen that the game is not what it was advertised to be (so failing even with the bad premise). But perhaps I'm just being biased by stack overflow shenanigans :P
