@AndrasDeak usual tunnel vision - "product communities on SO"
A really innovative idea.
find some big technologies and give them "autonomy", with a "private" leadership
I wonder why they didn't that before.
Could work for some big product right?
and so on...
Basically:
You know all you smaller tech specific sites that already suffer from split rep between SO and your separate site?
WELL! HOPE YOU LIKE SUFFER MORE! TAKE YOU REP AND THROW IT DOWN A CLIFF!
You invested on SharePoint? Too bad! Now get ready for our new 180° turn!
We incentivize Microsoft to create a Sharepoint Collective on SO!.
Hope your SharePoint specific site enjoys a slow and painful death. You outlived your purpose.
@AndrasDeak Yea, totally wonderful idea!
SharePoint was on SO, moved on SharePoint.SE and now they try to pull it back WITHOUT ANY "MIGRATION" PLAN.
Really makes me want contribute.

A: Beta release of Collectives™ on Stack Overflow

SPArcheonSo... I just finished reading this. I won't go over some of the weird results of this idea like giving some users a "more equal than the others" status that could either be good or go horribly wrong. For that, there are already many other answers. I will only point out another aspect of this reso...

You could even be the first one.

too late, there are already votes there :(

@AndrasDeak And even UP ones... weird.

Better luck next time

@SPArcheon No, that's backwards. Smaller sites enjoy the advantage that SO attracts all the stupid questions away from them.
At least once the site is past its initial hard phase where it has to build up a dedicated communit of regular users.

@SPArcheon What about that? What should I notice? Other than the advertisment bar at the top for "we have launched SO Collectives".
@SPArcheon Sorry, but that clothing doesn't look good on Rarity. She would never wear that.

Looks too human
Even for my own non MLP eyes. :)
@b_jonas only three badges for whole site. While other sites have hundreds, or thousands.
Assume the point is "Why bother, if I have no chance for a gold badge"?

@ShadowWizardWearingMaskV2 That badge is based on a fixed threshold for count of upvotes. Smaller sites have fewer users, so it's much harder to get that many upvotes. And I think people who look at those badges know that.

@SPArcheon What's that from?

2:27 PM

@b_jonas magento.stackexchange.com/help/badges/22/great-question about same amount of users, much more badges

Oh, you mean Rarity's dress? Then perhaps it's just drawn wrong in that first picture.

@ShadowWizardWearingMaskV2 actually more like "Why brother if there is no upvote and thus no way to use privileges since they are not scaled down"

@SPArcheon Ah.
@SPArcheon Why do the privilages matter? I don't think they matter that much to the people who bring good questions.
Also the privilages do scale in a four-step way.
The score thresholds for privilages that is
Nor do you need very high rep questions or answers to get the privilages. I know that from Sci Fi.
Sci Fi is a reasonably large SE site, but getting 100 upvotes seems unattainable to me. It didn't stop gaining a ton of XP for all the privilages.

btw, I wonder.. did you ever notice how they draw Zatanna in DC Super Hero Girl?
^ @b_jonas
which obviously no one at all noticed and made parodies off....
notice that it is only the "hero" version that has the purple stripe.
So, head canon is that she uses that as a disguise, probably based on some tv show she saw.....
Trolling does not end there. Tara Strong works on the show, but she voices ANOTHER character instead. And she behaves like.... Rarity, not Twily.

4:04 PM
And this is specifically for @ShadowWizardWearingMaskV2
"Realistic" (at least by your standard it seems) Pinkie with totally unrealistic Gummy

5:01 PM

5:30 PM
@SPArcheon That's normal. Tara Strong voices Bubbles, not Buttercup, in Powerpuff Gurls.

huh

now that is uncanny
cc @ShadowWizardWearingMaskV2 you must see this ^

Rarycat?

5:48 PM
somehow less creepy
