Which doesn't mean there would have been no plot at all.

It only mean that probably Diamond Tiara would have been used a lot more (where has she gone after her deserved "redemption"? Did they just forget her??)

or that we would have seen the "why Scootaloo can't fly" plot actually developed in the show

I think she even said that explicitly in an interview / twitter post / whatever.

Her original plan was to create a show that would portrait real world problems younger people strife with everyday.

While in the meantime probably also show how simple would it be to solve those problems if humanity was a lot less stupid and actually understood what a little kindness can do for other.

I thought after she retired, she'd rather start working on a different series instead.

I mean, I like how her name still is shown among the very few names in the in-episode credits, but still, it doesn't seem reasonable that she leaves the show alone for seven years then suddenly tries to meddle with it again.
