Watching the conversation unfold I was seeing a lot of
nonsequiturs being made. I would avoid those. If you're trying to discuss and work something out with your fellow member, it works well to ask why they're taking a stance or other probing questions to better understand it. Explaining that "too broad doesn't exist" is a nonstarter because it obviously does—all analogies break down at some point; analogies are only analogous to some extents.
