I've been having a problem lately designing a part in Solidworks. It's one of those things where I'm not sure the best way to describe the shape I want. I've tried a couple of ways but they both had problems.
The current state is that I've made a 3D sketch that's basically a triangle mesh description of one side of this object, the idea being that I can then do an extruded boss from this sketch. (The shape is actually made of triangles, I'm not just making a triangle mesh to be difficult.) But I can't get Solidworks to treat all of the triangles as closed contours, so I can't do the extrude. Sketch repair shows nothing wrong, and the triangles are definitely made of lines which meet at points.

@DanHulme hmmm, how about extruding the tris and joining the results?
I don't use solid works, but fusion...

@Trish I thought about that, but I still need all the tris to be recognised as closed contours for that. From that point of view it doesn't matter whether I do one extrude for the whole thing or one per triangle.

@DanHulme true... That's why I like fusion: it shows exactly "closed contour" by highlighting faces that are closed loops...

Posted in the mod room, forgot to post in here, been out flying around for job interviews. I think they are about over, and unless I move, I will be back to full availability.
(they went well, 100% offer rate so far)

@Trish Solidworks does the same. The problem is that it isn't highlighting some contours that really should be closed

@StarWind0 - Good deal and good luck!
