Hmm... I just realized that this question, with its "distributed/elastic pool of stateless web services", sounds an awful lot like "how do I control a botnet?" :p
Maybe I'm just being paranoid.

We probably shouldn't be providing any cut-and-pasteable answers to this question until this contest has ended (which, apparently, means not until Monday). — Ilmari Karonen 24 mins ago
@IlmariKaronen, poncho has already answered (correctly), should we do anything about the answer / question?
The only thing I could imagine to hide this from the world would be to mod-delete the question (and answer) and undelete again after the competition has ended. I'm not sure though if this is in-line with SE guidelines.

@SEJPM Probably not, at least they didn't provide any code that the OP could cut-and-paste.
But I was planning to drop in on the contest IRC channel and give them a link to the question. Let them decide how they want to deal with it.

@IlmariKaronen sounds good. You may mention that we could temporarily delete the question if requested by them, if our mod-team (@e-sushi, @CodesInChaos, @mikeazo) agrees.

@SEJPM I mentioned the question on their IRC channel. They didn't seem too concerned about it, or at least about the current answers.

The SE policy is to not care about contests. But you can delete your answer until then if you want.

@CodesInChaos I think that's kind of site-specific. Math.SE has a contest policy, I believe.
Anyway, here's the organizers' response, summarized:
> <@Shalom[p4]> well you could just as well get this directly from wikipedia :D
> <@Shalom[p4]> posting this on stackexchange is overkill :D
> <@Shalom[p4]> but thanks for the info, it seems people like to cheat ;]

Q: "Contest problem" policy

Willie WongWhat is our policy concerning contest questions on the Mathematics Stack Exchange? Why do we have a policy? What is a contest question? How we deal with on-going contest questions? I see a question that I know is from a contest, what do I do?

Q: How (if at all) should a person go about getting help with contests on here?

mikeazoWe had two recent questions on here seeking help with a contest/challenge. There have probably been others. How to decrypt a '.enc' file that has been encrypted with RSA using a public key? Decrypted RSA 64 bit encryption using modulus and private exponent. Got gobbledygook [Verify] Are these...

"Post is related to a rapidly changing event."
I never saw this until now :O

@SEJPM @IlmariKaronen To give Ilmari’s comment some heads-up, I’ve added a mod notice “Post is related to a rapidly changing event.”.
@SEJPM Seems you already noticed it. ;)

@e-sushi ahhhh, mod-notice. I didn't even know this tool existed :O

@SEJPM I will remove the mod notice on monday.

@e-sushi I'll ping you if you don't ;)

Probably the most non-destructive way to handle things. Looking at a non-answer by OP I just had to delete (was that you flagging it?), OP isn’t able to transform the existing answer into a practical implementation anyway. 8}
@SEJPM I’m sure you will. lol

10:52 PM
@e-sushi just set myself a calendar reminder ;)
@e-sushi Yes, it was me (if there was only one flag)

@SEJPM In that case… I’ll soon have to call you “wingman”.

@e-sushi context please?

context to wingman?

@e-sushi was it a reference to something?

@SEJPM I’m probably getting too old – no one remembers the movie Top Gun anymore. 8]

10:56 PM
@e-sushi I actually saw it and have it on DVD :O

@SEJPM Well, since you frequently show up watching my wing, pointing me to stuff et all… that’s why I said that if this continues, I’ll probably have to call you my “wingman” soon. (Hope that makes sense as context… long time, no coffee.)

@e-sushi it does :) thx for the clarification :)
