I upgraded my main computer yesterday from Ubuntu 16.04 LTS to 18.04 LTS. Some major issues where distorted video, only one of the monitors attached to my three monitor video card worked. It was very hard to navigate because the popups and many menus didn't show visible text.
It took at least an hour to fix.
I suspected that some of the menu's problem had to do with the selected Theme, but couldn't navigate the Gnome Tweak app to fix it, because of the lack of being able to read the menus.

Deleting removing my custom theme (~/.theme/[themename]) and rebooting fixed all the problems except having access to my three monitors. Changing to a video driver from the default repository (sudo apt install nvideo-375) fixed that.
My next install will be a vanilla install on my Laptop.
