hi, can anyone help me with this question:
Which of the following reactions proceeds at a faster rate?

Reaction 1: CH₂=CH₂ + HCl
Reaction 2: CH₂=CHCl + HCl

Ans is Reaction 1, but wouldn't there be resonance stabilisation by chlorine to the carbocation formed (which is rds) hence reaction 2 should be faster
