Why hasn't this been closed yet?

@Mithrandir24601 @SanchayanDutta
I would personally just close it

12:07 PM
So... What part of that question is unclear?

glS
@Mithrandir24601 well, for one, it lacks a definition of what "authenticated quantum channel" means here. But apart from this, if the answer is an obvious "yes, so what?", that's not a good or useful question IMO, and I would therefore just assume the OP was not clear in the way they asked it (rather than assume the question was worthless to begin with)
also, in this particular case, the user keeps asking questions of this sort, and doesn't seem to care or be willing to act on the feedback he's been given about how questions should be asked (which will probably also end up with them getting a restriction on asking further questions)

@glS Yeah, this sort of thing is something I'm more worried about
@glS So, "not a good or useful question" isn't by itself grounds for closing and I'd argue neither is just assuming the OP wasn't clear... But lacking an important definition is I suppose good enough reason for closure given the rest

@Mithrandir24601 if we were on physics.SE, I would indeed use the "homework or not enough effort" (or whatever it's called now) reason to close, rather than the "unclear question" one, but lacking that reason here..

You've convinced me - it's now closed
@glS Yeah, there is a meta post about this

"Gimme the codez"-type question; also unclear.

@glS We need to activate that custom close reason...

And damn, we do need another mod as early as possible. It's getting impossible to close the terrible questions without the mod hammer.

@SanchayanDutta I wouldn't say it's unclear exactly ('Not A Question' though, sure) In any case, as the question I've marked it duplicate of asks and answers the question the dupe (doesn't) ask, I've just marked it as duplicate

@Mithrandir24601 Oh nice, I was searching for that dupe

Heh, I wan't to use the tag :P

@SanchayanDutta what would that entail?
@SanchayanDutta it's a bit of a weird concept though. Like, doesn't the queue itself already highlight questions on which you should vote to close?

@glS Step 1 would be to re-read the answers to this meta question then either write another answer or (if you want to propose a new close reason) a new question

Anonymous
@glS Yes, but the queue doesn't allow you to discuss (or ping the wielders of mod hammers)! :)

Anonymous
Also, I guess it's partly because most of the active reviewers on SO Python are usually present in the chat room

@glS Like Mithrandir says, someone needs to write up a meta post and get some upvotes

Anonymous
Then the mods can activate that custom close reason (a maximum of 3 custom close reasons are allowed per site)

@Mithrandir24601 I mean I agree with the most upvoted answer. Avoiding "homework" in the wording and focusing on the "low effort" part. You mean to write a meta post proposing an explicit wording?

Anonymous
@glS Yup, we need the explicit wording

glS
right. So have a meta post with an explicit wording, wait some time (say ~a week?) to give time to someone else to pitch in, and then proceed from there. I'll try to get it done this evening

@glS Yeah, as @SanchayanDutta said... You could do it as a feature request linking to the most upvoted answer and if we get a few upvotes we can implement it

Anonymous
Yep, that's all we need

I'd include the terms "insufficient effort" and/or "insufficient context"

This is from Math SE ^

@SanchayanDutta @Mithrandir24601 done!
@SanchayanDutta I just proposed to copy the math.SE reason, as that already looks pretty good to me. If you had something else in mind please add it as an answer!
@SanchayanDutta actually, your version is a bit different than the current reason they have. Where did you get it from?

Q: Should we add a "not enough research effort" close reason?

glSIn Homework questions, and what to do about them we discussed whether it would be a good idea to have an additional vote-to-close reason. The consensus/majority seemed to be that it would be a good idea to avoid thinking about whether something constitutes a "homework question", but that questio...
