@glS I'm not sure - I've found questions on quantum-operation that are about specific operations, so while these operations are technically a channel, I personally think that it makes more sense to describe them as operations
Maybe a better way of describing it would be as a specific operator
@glS Oof, 'operator sum' sounds like a pretty odd term to me - I know it's standard, but yeah, it's not at all clear at first glance
@Mithrandir24601 to be clear, I would indeed go with having quantum-channel synonym of quantum-operation and leaving the latter. If we leave them both, we should at least make it very clear in the excerpt that quantum-operation is not for CPTP maps (and retag a good number of questions)
