I'm aware that, at least according to wikipedia, there is a difference: quantum channels are CPTP maps, quantum operations only CP maps. But I'm not sure how much this difference is actually appreciated. Also the vast majority of questions will be about CPTP maps anyway, so I don't think it's particularly useful to have separate tags for them
