Does anyone here know how to pick a smooth timelike vector field, given the following metric $g=-\cos(2\varphi)(dt)^{2}+2\sin(2\varphi)dtdx+\cos(2\varphi)(dx)^{2}$ ?

solve the equation $g(X, X) = -1$?

I like how in gauge gravity, there is a bundle called the fake tangent bundle

It is essentially just $$FM \times_H \mathbb{R}^N$$
or something similar

So I bountied a question and the value is negative but its suppose to represent: This is the sum, over all particles in a unit 3-volume, of the inverse energy
How the heck does the integral end up being negative?

@JackRod what do you mean precisely with "quantum measurement" here?
or better said, what about "quantum measurement" you think is not sufficiently covered in the standard basic introductions to QM?

@siereah … I remember there was a way to pick such a vector field via eigenvectors.. but I guess, just solving the equation would be indeed a valid approach too. Thanks for reminding me of this option! :-)

Hi
Is anyone up?
I want help in a little doubt

Q: Out running a bear

LukeI was going to ask this in wilderness but I’m pretty sure we’ll need some math to find out the real answer. They say you can’t out run a grizzly bear because they run about 35 mph. While the average human runs 6-18 mph. I’m assuming we are simple steaks running in a straight line race. But seeing...

I'm not going to make the one-character edit, but this question about being eaten by a bear has a missing "r" in the assumption that the runner is "a streak."
