Wow, you can tell a book is physics/applied when they used the word 'fudge' to describe a method to make an analytical solution possible.
It's really getting to me that the wording is "The usual way around this is to fudge, by invoking the small angle approximation"

Hi All..
In thermodynamics. Work is inexact differential due to path dependence and pressure is depend on volume and temperature.
What if we take isothermal process. or pressure is only depend on change in volume. Does work become exact differential???

@123 That's not really a meaningful question - processes are just specific paths through thermodynamic state space, and it makes no sense mathematically to ask whether a differential is exact only for a specific path.
