I dont think Joshphysics is an active user ... Can someone supplement his answer in light of my comment?

Q: What is $\Delta t$ in the time-energy uncertainty principle?

HoboIn non-relativistic QM, the $\Delta E$ in the time-energy uncertainty principle is the limiting standard deviation of the set of energy measurements of $n$ identically prepared systems as $n$ goes to infinity. What does the $\Delta t$ mean, since $t$ is not even an observable?

Or atleast comment why my objection is bullocks
?

@MoreAnonymous The word you want is bollocks, not bullocks.

it could be a self made slang for "bull sh*t" :P

8:55 AM
@JohnRennie Hi.

@Abcd hi :-)

@JohnRennie Got 3 choices of laps from shop...Help decide which one to choose.

Cool! :-) What are the three laptops?

@JohnRennie All 3 HP: CE1000TU, CE1000TX, CS 1000TX

Give me a moment to Google those

8:58 AM
@JohnRennie For 3rd one, he will install SSD externally.
@JohnRennie OK

any price differences?

Both the CE1000TU and CE1000TX look like great laptops.

@skullpatrol yes...but I am fine with all 3 prices.

I wouldn't buy a laptop with a mechanical drive in 2019 so I wouldn't buy the CS1000TX.

@JohnRennie Whats a mechanical drive?

9:02 AM
@Abcd a non-SSD drive

@JohnRennie But he said he will install it externally...is that a problem?

sounds...fishy

Wow, I just checked the processor in the CE1000TU and TX - that's a seriously powerful processor
@Abcd the two CE1000 laptops have an NVME drive, and that's the fastest type of drive there is.
Specs here:

@JohnRennie oh okay...so now which one among the remaining two is better

9:05 AM
are they both brand new?

idk

@Abcd the CE1000TX is more powerful, but the CE1000TU is already a very powerful laptop.
What's the difference in price? I assume the TX is more expensive than the TU?

@JohnRennie Just 1500 Rupees...

Get the TX then ...

@JohnRennie TU more expensive than TX

9:07 AM
Ah, I would have guessed it was the other way round.
In that case I'd get the TX.
The TX is about 10% faster

I'd get the more powerful TX also.
Find out which has had less use.

The processor in the TX is as powerful as the one in the desktop I'm using to type this!

1500 is not cheap

@skullpatrol 1500 rupees....convert it to dollar and see...
@JohnRennie I called him again and he had told the wrong price earlier -_-....If I get the TU one is it fine too?

Yes. The TU is 10% less powerful then the TX, but it's still a really powerful laptop.
The TU is still plenty powerful enough for heavy duty scientific computation.

9:17 AM
is the price 10% less?

@skullpatrol havent got the price of tx yet...but I am assuming it will be lot more costly.
@JohnRennie Cool Thanks :)
@skullpatrol tu is of 58000 rs

I think they are both really nice laptops. Not flashy, but powerful and not too heavy.

what kind of laptop do you have now? @Abcd

@skullpatrol 91mobiles.com/…

9:46 AM
@skillpatrol Perhaps, and I did consider that possibility. However, it can be difficult to read the posts of @MoreAnonymous as it is, with the frequent typos and broken English. I would advise them to avoid making up their own slang on top of that. ;)

10:20 AM
That, my friend, is the nature of "net speak" which isn't going to go away soon :-)
but yes, I'd agree for the sake of clarity; especially when chatting with a G.N.

@PM2Ring how else is someone suppose to start their own trend and net lingo? :P

1:54 PM
@MoreAnonymous Fair enough. :)

<grumble> From HNQ physics.stackexchange.com/q/487180/123208 "I decided not to accept a single answer because different answers provided me with different ways to understand this. Thanks to all!" What?! I'm sure Bob D doesn't care about the measly 15 points, especially after a couple of days of hitting the rep cap, but it's the principle of the thing... Does the OP think he'd have scored all those points without Bob D's excellent answer? </grumble>
