@apaul So edit it? ;) heroic edits wanted. If they roll back, we'll delete it because they seem to not want to ask a question, they want to rant.

@Catija Hmm... I was a little hesitant to do that because it looked like I was the one who caused the offense that sparked the question.

As a note, HDE and I were talking yesterday... we fully support finding trolls and dealing with them but we're both concerned that we're going a bit overboard seeing trolls under every bad question. :) Shog did warn us not to get paranoid.

@apaul I've answered your meta... but then again, I don't really know what you were thinking of doing with it... Personally, I would wait for OP's input, to see if this is really about people calling them queer or about other people calling themselves/eachother queer

That makes a pretty big difference that isn't clear from the question as is now

@Catija Okay, I'll keep it in mind. I was just wondering if you'd looked into that question and found whether or not it matched the trolling pattern (,)... and was a troll. Because that's pretty relevant for the meta from Jarko ;)

@Tinkeringbell From the wording of the question, I would guess that it's a "both/and" not an "either/or"

@Tinkeringbell well, you can still see the edit history to see if it ends with a comma, but I wonder if the troll knows we see the pattern or if they took the weekend off.

@Tinkeringbell That's why I thought toning down some of the anger was needed. "Why do people use the word queer, when some find it offensive?" Or "How do I ask people not to use the word queer because I find it offensive?" would both be better titles.

@TheSnarkKnight Something pushing your buttons does not equal "trying to hit every button possible." We need to be careful about seeing trolls everywhere. If we start shutting down good faith users, and going on witch hunts the trolls accomplish their disruption without doing anything.
