@Rarst Not 100% sure if I follow that question accurately but I guess one way to start the process would be to pass variables some variable that can allow you to recognize where the click has come from which can be used to run rewrite rules conditionally... thoughts?

Hi @Rilwis.. your metabox script sucks.
...only kidding ;)
ps. thanks for that quick patch re: images being deleted from media library

@toscho Sry man think we edited question at same time... i provided some inline links at top, I think one at bottom should also be there too of course...
@userabuser I’d rather see speaking links than some random words as anchors. If you found something useful, add it to the bottom.
I am really curious about an explanation for add_theme_support( 'automatic-feed-links' );. :)
@toscho I'll remember your preference for the future, but just one thing, they are not random words, they are succinctly relevant. Random would have been if I used words elsewhere in your post like, "Bennet", "popular", "not" - to express the same kind of contextual relevance.
@userabuser So you think the word are is a good link text for a search for some other words? :)
@toscho How do you mean? :) Isn't that just turning off output of feed links/rss that get output into your header, instead of manually having to include it in your theme files
Screen reader output for the link list.
@userabuser No, it turns it on. And I don’t understand why any user wants to risk the loss of feed links with a theme switch.

@toscho Yes, I think its "suitable" in the context of your expression and that there "are" three links provided by Chip that underpin the topic as well as one link to the actual topic itself, so I think: "There are many cases and many debates" is a good choice as it speaks directly in reference to external issues. But if you don't like it, by all means do remove them. Now I know your preference.
Ah, I am too lazy now.
@toscho Also, I don't test my posts for screen readers just like how code output looks like crap on my iphone but I don't complain that WPSE has not provided a better way for me to read that code... curiously, how many people use screen readers?
Do you want me to remove it for you then you lazy eyeball! ?
Leave it as it is now. Not that important, just a preference.

@userabuser not about clicks, basically I understand it as building permalink structure out of custom menu. so if you put "thing a > thing b" in menu and permalink for thing b is example.com/thing-a/thing-b... probably too crazy and edge case to spend time on
@Rarst What I mean about click is that when you click on link in menu, some vars is also set and passed along with the request so you can evaluate it in your logic, thus know where the request has come from (menu) or somewhere other than menu... If its from menu then you can apply certain rules that give you structure example.com/thing-a/thing-b as per menu layout...
@userabuser what if click is not on menu? forget click, the point is to have permalinks adjust to menu... which is nifty but tad crazy
@Rarst This is what I am saying though you still need to know where the request comes from and to do that you set a variable that you can evaluate otherwise you need to use what nav walker to alter the output of the links (how they display in status bar for example) don't you?
@userabuser why? permalinks don't exist because you click on them and they don't change depending on your path through the site. they just are in certain structure. doesn't have to do anything with clicks.
Automattic DB guru had confusing WPSE experience because he couldn't comment... I'll just go look up something to upvote for him... one answer. which @toscho massacred earlier today. not making things easy for me, eh... :)
