So, would a question about deployment and wp-supercache be on topic for WPSE? Trying to come up with a good way of handling wp-supercache's wp-content/advanced-cache.php (which has an absolute path in it), that would obviously fail if deployed to a different server. But not sure if it's really WP related, or just a general deployment issue
@anu fine as for me

Do not update to 3.4.2 if you need this: Ticket #21829 Custom Field "Update" button failure
we are long way from silent updates, aren't we... :)
I will never allow that.
@Sisir the 'social' plugin will do that
13:22
@toscho same here. will never be able to charge a client more money for doing updates
instead we would have to change our business model to, Charge silly amounts for when you break it.
Opinions!
black or red/orange?
@Brady charge money for updates... most of the time I can't even convince to update at all
print '<p>Post ' . ( $wp_query->current_post + 1 ) . ' of ' . $wp_query->post_count . ' Posts</p>';
print '<p>Post ' .   $wp_query->current_post + 1   . ' of ' . $wp_query->post_count . ' Posts</p>';
Note the different results …
@TomJNowell PINK
awww
13:36
@Rarst we dont charge just for updates. we charge for blocks of our time. Most of that time is used on updates
@all but no, pink isn't really an option, black? Or red/orange?
shouldn’t there be a comma after websites?
@toscho Let me get the basic design before I go over the text, I'm getting that looked over by a copy writer once I've got a final frontpage design
lemme do yt, my Englisch is allmoßt perfekt
@toscho your hired!
13:41
=[
sounds tasty
@toscho licks lips
14:40
@Jack see comment on your question
@TomJNowell red/orange -- not pink
15:01
@marfarma thanks! From who I've asked they've all said red/orange unanimously
@TomJNowell looks a bit like a warning to me :)
@kaiser 1 against 8 congrats you're the first to disagree
@TomJNowell It's better than b/w, but there're some million other colours ;)
@kaiser perhaps I should a/b test the spectrum
Oh, this better.
Orange is so overused.
15:19
@TomJNowell you should a/b test your short-list. But what's your criteria - click-throughs, page views, time on site, newsletter signup, or what?
15:30
@marfarma beauty
@TomJNowell how do you measure 'beauty' while testing?
@marfarma sigh vs. meauw
Basically @TomJNowell just monitors how often his $( '#colour' ).on( 'lick', function( handler ) {... was triggered.
@kaiser that only works if your testing framework has voice recognition ....
@kaiser I can't even begin to touch that one
Nah. .on( 'lick' ) triggers when the user touches the smartphones lcd with his tongue.
@kaiser oh, I got it. It just left me speachless
15:41
That’s why no one will ever touch kaiser’s phone.
There's an AJAX callback named invoked that's named wp_ajax_priv-room-invitation.
But that just works for #E20074.
@kaiser um ... wat?

and similar colours

or all together
how does wp know where to send users after submitting the comment form?
post id?
idk, when ever i post a comment a get a weird page
nvm, just figured out that it was my index page...but why doesnt go back to the comments page?
16:24
@TomJNowell make it rand()
Or change it depending on the time and the users timezone
crazy
@alme1304 that shit cray*
16:42
I just wasted ten minutes to find out why a value that should be an integer was in fact a float: ceil() and floor() return integer values as floats. :(
@TomJNowell wow, nasa has a flickr account, sweet
^meta box snafu?
grrrr... Debug Bar is being meh. I don't get why everyone is high on it.
// TODO: Fix better
if ( is_object( $value ) ) {
	echo '<li>' . $key . ' => <ol>';
	foreach ( $value as $_key => $_value )
		echo '<li>' . $_key . ' => ' . $_value . '</li>';
	echo '</ol></li>';
} else {
	echo '<li>' . $key . ' => ' . $value . '</li>';
}
obviously variables can only be object and not object
and in arrays we always store strings...
@Rarst You didn't know that? #fail
18:44
this is curious... if page has xdebug error dump Security Essentials make it load really slow
have you tried the debug objects plugin, not sure if it's better
did, the problem is Bar is kind of standard and all extensions by third parties are getting written for it
18:59
@Rarst What's "Security Essentials"?
@kaiser Microsoft's antivirus
| status = Active | genre = Antivirus and Network intrusion detection system | license = Freeware | website = }} Microsoft Security Essentials (MSE) is an antivirus computer program that provides protection against different types of malware such as computer viruses, spyware, rootkits and Trojan horses. It uses the same antimalware foundation as other Microsoft antivirus products, although it lacks the centralized management features of some of them. This product runs on Windows XP, Windows Vista and Windows 7, but not on Wind...
Just spent hours finding and filtering advanced VBA tutorials. ... my brain hurts...
How do you know that it's ↑ making it slow?
@kaiser because if I disable MSE it's fast. solved just now by putting Apache process into exclusions
nice find
19:02
I find it while back so don't remember how I did in first place... by CPU usage or something
@Rarst That's prime blog post material
@marfarma too localized :)
@Rarst who's your target audience?
@marfarma people who like stuff I like other than me
@Rarst ah, I had been imagining a tech blog
19:05
it is, just not that much into web development side of me... started out as primarily freeware/software blog and mostly stays that way
here it's just too damn edge case... xdebug error trace in Apache, running on Windows with MSE... I am not even sure it's not some quirk of my system and not reproducible. best windows troubleshoot posts are about issues that hit widely...
I have post about retarded issue when Java fails to install becaue of ClearType settings (!!!). that had been melting people into happy puddle for years... took me couple years f(on and off) to figure out :)
I despise java on windows
only on windows? :)

Q: render default posts format

JohnMerlinoMy home.php is associated with my blog page, as opposed to rest of site which is just a cms. I want my blog page to render the comments ability, an archive of older posts, tags, blogroll, etc. Right now, this is what I have in my home.php: <?php /* Template Name: Home */ ?> <?php get_he...
