Multiple functions call _navigation_markup() which has a filter to change the return HTML - navigation_markup_template - is there a way to distinguish which function called _navigation_markup so that it can only be applied to that function?
The context is this answer if it seems impossible to only apply to the_comments_pagination() because of the call stack.

@Howdy_McGee the class attribute is comments-pagination. You can test for that.
