nice work @rarst, instead of working on your EU visa make other people work on their ukranian one ;)

Holy shit, hotels are cheap in Kyiv

@MarkKaplun we have no guts so we pretty much let in whomever without visa, even if they don't do same for us
@toscho are they? my impression was that decent stuff is about usual, but dirt cheap stuff is really dirt cheap
3 nights, 85 Euro, and that's by far not even the cheapest
I pay more for one night in Vienna
I live next to a Raddison and it's something like $100+ a night. but there certainly are cheap options. hostels can be hysterically cheap.
yeah, I don't go to hostels anymore. this is a single room
there are hostels for 7 Euro for three nights in Kyiv …
yep :) there is a hostel in my building. it's makeshift (as in likely not completely legal setup) and sometimes being a problem with scrappy crowd drinking and stuff (more so for immediate neighbors on that floor)
I have to read up the visa stuff. If that's not too complicated, I'll probably come.
I don't even have a passport anymore.
05:37
english info page has a link to visa stuff. think EU folks don't need visa, but passport is probably a must. I doubt you can go anywhere outside EU without one really.
The German site is confusing. At the top, it says, I don't need one, but further down, it says the opposite.
I can visit Switzerland without a passport. :)
where does it say that you do need one? "don't need one" = for short visits, there are still visas for long stays and stuff
mfa.gov.ua/en/consular-affairs/entering-ukraine/… says "Germany / Visa not required for a stay up to 90 days within a 180 day period"
Beantragung eines kurzfristigen Visums (Typ C, Aufenthalt bis 90 Tage im Laufe von 180 Tagen) Short-term visum, up to 90 days within 180 days
yeah, it's still a thing, but I don't think you need it
better be sure :)
05:49
true
you can call local thing and ask or something :) still passport is likely a must

PHP versions usage: Packagist vs Wpackagist vs WordPress https://t.co/tps7vkSVaR
surprise! people who use WP via Composer have a clue :)

@toscho I like what I have going so far... and it seems to work well for just about every project I've done lately. If it doesn't do what I need it to do on a new project... I add the capability... then every other site using my framework gets that update as well (if they want to use it).
Keeps all my clients happy and makes my job easier in the long run.
So I think it's worth it. BTW this is in reply to... this message.
Yay. now I can auto-programatically create just about all types of navigations/lists (vertical or horizontal) in bootstrap from any navigation menu.

Anybody online perchange :) ?
I'm looking for a hook at the top of a user-edit page - not necessarily to add fields but for a conditional redirect to manage access
18:49
admin_init and testing against the current hook is all I can think of
just dump all the hooks and see what fired
beats going through source swamp

@Rarst Can not find Yoast plugin on wpackagist. How can I fetch it?
Oh, damn … found it: "wpackagist-plugin/wordpress-seo": "3.1"
:P
just... fetch it from real packagist?..
Didn't know that's a thing with it. Nice. Thanks.
Do you by any chance know of problems with WPSEO_Utils::cleanup_sitemap_database_cache()? Got that on some requests several times and those requests take a pretty long time.
Ok, seems to be something different that probably calls the cache actions and Yoast triggers with it.
20:44
still working out kinks out of that thing (cache invalidation)
should be better once my backlog of 10+ PRs gets merged
21:01
So I can assume (and tell) that this is an issue that will be gone with a later version? Do you already have a target version/ assigned milestone for merging those PRs?
21:18
Nvm. Thanks anyway!
21:38
idk which issue :) there are multiple kinks there... cache invalidation is hard
