I think its just another flat site.. the older site had depth, this one.. just seems like a thrown together site.. but then Im burned out on flat sites

Same here, in a nutshell, use the Meta design for the main site - looks nicer and would be a better fit

yes, but that's not how things are done at SE. chat requires immediate synchronous presence. what if it's middle of the night in your timezone and you can't show up?..

that's the whole point of having meta site - to work out meta issues

I mean chat can be helpful, but it's not a "main" channel to work on anything

@toscho you have custom menu items based off of rewrite rules in multilingual right? Do you have something somewhere that details how the menus work with the current active parents? I'm dealing with an issue involving submenu items with rewritten fake pages not flagging the parent menu item as active/ancestor
