Ah yes, missed the url in the tweet. That's embarrassing. Wonder if there'll be a security update shortly or if it was a server related hole.... or an inside job...
speaking of microshit , I just happen to be on modern.ie/en-us and click one of the main call to actions "" Developer Award Winners" and it returns a server error
I don't dislike microsoft, but in general I find open source software to be far better than its proprietary counterparts, albeit with a lot less shine.
agreed, there's a lot of potential in Microsoft, but they've kind of shot themselves in the foot, and their internal structures and politics aren't ideal
When using wp-cli to create a new WP site, do I need to manually create the db using cli mysql or wp db create will take care of this? Because wp db create asks for the wp-config.php to be present, and I should use wp core configto create it, with parameters such as --dbname,--dbuserand --dbpass. But when I try to use it I get this error:
@Wyck we almost always have to build for ie8 at my job too. its the worst, especially since we do a lot of responsive/mobile-friendly sites
spent a lot of time in hospital this past spring, brother in law was in coma for 4 weeks. as i watched the nurses work, i realized many proprietary systems were actually running on ie8. finally understood why the IT departments were terrified of upgrading

I will have to make myself familiar with Phing first, I have heard about it before, guess I'll have to overcome my procrastination and learn. Now is a good time.
@anu I saw it a while back, I like how the tasks are setup better than phing, but phing also has support for git/ftp and all that wierd stuff
@ThatBrazilianGuy you don't really have to know it that much , you can just fill out the config and run one command, unless you want to extand the Task class's
I have another phing script that does more server stuff, one command to connect remotely, grab a site dump, serialize, send to staging or new setup, auto git commits, with an s3 backup flag, but it totally not usable by anyone , too localized
Sounds cool - I've got separate scripts to handle database migrations from local -> production and vice versa, also been playing with ansible to automate the initial server provisioning. One day I'll get them all joined up...
considering i have access to NES/GBA/SNES emulators on my phone, and a cool bluetooth controller which HOLDS my phone, this is totally unnecessary but is still totally rad
ok yea that permalink did have some funny conversations
i never take myself so seriously. hard to imagine trying to get other people to do it. so glad i'm not in sales or other front-facing role in a company.
