A: CPU-Z, Bios and Windows all recognize other memory

VedantThe RAM slots are color coded. Use the 2x 4GB in the same color. And the 16GB in the other colored slot. EDIT: please refer to this

I actually only want to use the 16GB. Put the other ones back in because it wouldn't start. I do see two different colored slots, so let me just try it.
@ScubaKay It is actually recommended to use RAM in pairs as they complement each other. Try placing the 16GB in all the color slots.
The 16GB doens't work on it's own. I get the three beeps saying memory not detected. I have grey and black slots. When I place my 2x4gb in one and the 16gb in another, it doesn't do anything. No beeps whatsoever.
@ScubaKay in all slots?
Yes, in all slots.
16:25
@ScubaKay use one 4 Gb and 16 gb in same color and then different color
@ScubaKay run CPU-Z as admin
@ScubaKay see update in the answer
Did u try what i said?
I checked BIOS with all three memory sticks in it and it detects them all. CPU-Z now sees my 16gb in the 4th slot though it is in the same slot (#3) again
I now have 4gb in Windows
It only started with my 16gb memory in the third slot (grey) and the others in the 1st and 2nd slot.
I read the first part
Ill continue
Got it
Try refreshing the windows index in Right click computer --> Properties it should say windows index needs refreshing. The RAM must be working or the Laptop wouldn't boot.
@ScubaKay try the above!!!
I see in my bios it doest add up in the total memory
16:32
Do the first conf, where it was recognised by CPU-z
then Try refreshing the windows index in Right click computer --> Properties it should say windows index needs refreshing. The RAM must be working or the Laptop wouldn't boot.
i know it must be frustrating to start the comp so many times. been ther!!
Got the chat on mobile now. Slightly less frustrating :)
I put the old configuration back
Waiting for the restart
i don't see anything about the index
in Computer properties
?
Yeah right click on Computer -> properties
16:38
Right Click "This PC"
this one
open task manager and see
dont restart for a while
You think it's still trying to install it or something?
16:41
no
ur comp wont boot
are u technical
like can u do cmd and regedit stuff?
I'm a programmer but I don't know a lot about hardware
yeah
Not sure about the regedit, but I can give it a try
just hang on for a while
there?
got to msconfig
16:47
What does max ram say?
??
strComputer = "."
Set objWMIService = GetObject("winmgmts:" & "{impersonationLevel=impersonate}!\\" & strComputer & "\root\cimv2")
Set colSettings = objWMIService.ExecQuery ("Select * from Win32_ComputerSystem")

For Each objComputer in colSettings
Wscript.Echo "System Name: " & objComputer.Name
Wscript.Echo "Total Physical Memory: " & objComputer.TotalPhysicalMemory
Next
fml can't find it
Copy the code and save as run.vbs
and then run it
then check again
then click advanced options
also
.
Open CMD, type systeminfo, press Enter.
Total Physical Memory: 8.501.751.808
and the msconfig one?
max ram?
I think The max ram on your comp will be set to 8 gb
That one is unchecked
0
16:54
try ticking it and set as max
Can't set higher as 8129
ok
the vbs?
I ran it.
Total Physical Memory: 8.501.751.808
i added the dots :)
and systeminfo?
paste the log here
complete log
does it save the log somewhere?
16:57
no
the output i mean
cause the cmd window closes and I don't remember how to prevent that
go to cmd
and then run it
go to cmd
then type systeminfo
But now i think ur RAM is corrupt, becasue it wont run standalone. CPU-Z only detects and it does not get detected by win
