I just had this thought that it would have been cool to write the backend in Coconut and not Python
02:28
@Pavel s/Coconut/Node

@Downgoat Node is overrated
02:53
but it is asynchronous
03:23
@Mego We still could do coconut. Just change the file extensions to .coco and and add a compilation step.
(Personally I like coconut just for the case/match alone)
@Pavel coconut means compilation no?
@Downgoat Coconut transpiles to Python. Also, all valid Python is valid Coconut.
There's also a coconut-run which interprets the code instead of generating a .coco file
So really all that's needed to convert the project to coconut is to change python3 to coconut-run in a couple of scripts
In memory transpilation execution is never good
Yeah, so practically a compilation step would still be necessary

@Downgoat Flask can easily be done asynchronously with asyncio. We just haven’t had a need for it yet.
Anonymous
@Pavel We could, but I don’t see the benefit.
@Mego Switch/Case is nice
Anonymous
@Pavel Sure, but if we don’t need it, then using Coconut is just adding unnecessary complexity
True
