if I'm making a question which is specifically about a spoiler, should I include "spoilers" as a tag or has this not been decided yet? I've already made the title vague, hidden the spoiler part, and warned for spoilers
I don't see why you would use it for anything besides spoilers (unlike when people at some forums use the spoiler feature to hide a random part of their post)
This is a question that I really can't get my head around. I've asked many people but I still have not come to a good understanding of the ending of CLANNAD: After Story.
In the end of the anime, Nagisa and Ushio both come back to life. It's not terribly clear on how this happens and what causes...
Part of the problem is that there are people around here who know far more about a world (from manga/novels/the author's blog) than is available in an anime
It's almost impossible to know if a question like that has an answer unless you got your PhD in CLANNADology
@jkerian even if you draw from the game in this question, unless you are the writer, there no way to give a answer based on fact, it just speculations and debates
My point is slightly more theoretical. It's almost impossible to know if "Why/How did this happen?" is answerable unless you have exhaustive knowledge of the fictional world.
@MadaraUchiha You can't... No seriously: I think that it's gained either by a moderator assigning it to you, or after a while you've been in this room a lot (which means you know it fairly well to be trusted with powers).
@Krazer The good day is when you open the site and you find that everyone is voting to close, posting Meta questions, helping new users... The bad day is when you close a question and the user posts on Meta "Moderator abusing his power, closing my question unilaterally".
First off, this is the proper reaction. (Posting on meta).
I will clarify my decision.
The question's requirements were unreasonable
The use of semi-transparent 1px PNG backgrounds died years ago (the question you've linked is 3 years old). There are better, stronger, and more compatible solut...
What am I supposed to do? What could I do?
If you honestly think your question was closed wrongly and that it should be reopened, your best bet is Meta. Some suggestions:
Don't just post a rant, that won't help you (as in any other situation in life);
Write constructively about why you think i...
:D
And I shamelessly stole borrowed this from another user:
What does it mean to close a question? Who can do it? Why should you do it?
This is a very nice guide provided by Ninefingers on the Cryptography Meta Site. Following the example from other sites and reassured by his blessing, I'm going to post it here.
A note: if a new user asks for explanatio...
We're not totally sure on the outcome of the above discussion, but there's a tendency towards letting these stay open in the beginning. As such, voted to reopen. — Xeo6 secs ago
The main motivation here is this question asking where to find a list of currently airing anime, including date and time. It can be seen as a polling question (well, really, it is) and might come a cross as subjective, as there may be multiple valid answers, of which you might choose one by prefe...
People might want to ask about anime / manga which are similar in style / story to the one they just watched or liked. Should they be closed as "not constructive", since they are by-nature were preference-based and you can't objectively say which anime is truly similar to which other one? There a...
> As a tangant, on SO, there may also be multiple solutions to a specific programming problem, and you pick one that fits best depending on your demands and / or preferences.
I just noticed I misspelled "tangent".
Which is exactly what your answer describes as "bad".
It's not the same. In a programming question, the possible answers are really few. If I ask "what sites talk about airing dates", I could find 5, 10, 40 sites like that, theoretically.
@Alenanno That's not true. There are as many solutions as there is sand out there for most problems. Some are better than others. And the OP picks his personal best fit.
True, but getting past the early stage is also the most difficult. Now I can't judge how well Anime is doing since this is the first private beta that I've been in (and cared about).
The private beta exists so it gives the chance to the people who really care about the site to decide the scope without external interferences, like drive-by users. Ok, we can experiment, and I'm only voicing my opinion not deciding for everyone, but when we enter public beta, we better have some basic rules already settled. If you get what I mean.
Ok, have a nice time. :P
By the way, if you find a nice way (i.e. requirements) to keep the recommendation questions under control, for example, then I'll be happy to vote yes.
@Alenanno I think someone should make a master list of requirements and recommendation in meta? I'll volunteer to make if if we can decide which ones are relevant.
@grasshopper The intention is good, I can see that, but the other answer is based on that user's experience on another site... We can always set a separate chatroom here like "Anime recommendations".
