but apparently you have a much higher rate of getting Freighter Technology thingies with Industrial Dispatch Missions so focusing on them

but i do like how i can go to and from the Capital Ship to the Frigates now

@Memor-X "issue" - it is not an "issue", it is a "de facto" thing. Frontiers removed the ability to learn the schematics for the original wooden/metal base parts, and now the new patch does the same for the capital ship bases.

If you already learned them, most are still available in the "legacy" tab, otherwise you will forever have an incomplete base building set... which is just a lame thing to do, ODC or not.

It also has no reason at all, since they still removed the parts that are no longer supported. Even if you wanted to keep your old capital ship base, any ramp is now replaced by a stair.

This is already ugly enough, but gets even worse when you consider that the new parts have a complete different color scheme from the old one. So you get a red stair in the middle of a gray/metal room.

but there is still hope. Not to get the legacy set back mind you, that apparently is beyond whet they are willing to do (why remove something that worked? Because you think the new parts look better? Shouldn't the decision be left to the player)

Yet apparently the experimental branch added new ramps sets.

hopefully I won't have to use those ugly ladders forever

@Memor-X Like I said, experimental branch, also not-my-screen.

I assume that is because the patch tries to unlock some basic stuff for free on existing saves to compensate the mess caused by the switch.

For example, I had the refiner unlocked, I assume because I had a refiner in the pre-patch version of the base.

I also automatically got the storage rooms since now they are a separate tech from the planetary base version and I owned that one.

(BTW, the storage area is the only thing that still looks as ugly as it can be.... the terminal are still identical so you still have a room with 9 identical consoles. Not sure how that can be fixed to be fair, only option would be merge them in a single unit)

Anyway, it is funny to see a gek walking around the freighter.... tagged as the captain of the NORMANDY

Also... the Leviathan apparently has a captain too.

how do the cameo ships like the Normandy and the 40k ship look like how that the ship is more customizable with outdoor areas?

@Memor-X again, you are still thinking of the Normandy as a capital ship. It is just a frigate.

As for the 40k ship - I guess you mean the Sentinel style?

@Memor-X First freighter battle is hardcoded in a way that prevents the Sentinel and Venator class from spawning - the probable reason being the fact that the first free freighter can have 18 inventory slot max and the two special class have 19 slots min....

did have to save scum it because the event that triggered first ship was 75 million, then a couple in the mid 60 millions
