had a dream ended weirdly because of me having been forced woken up to do PC work. i was at my first workplace with my laptop on with my Work PC and on my laptop i had FUJI TV going watching VS Arashi
now that alone isn't all that odd because i would do that at some point. the odd bit was that all of a sudden japanese lesbian porn started playing on FUJI TV.....at least i think it was porn as there was lots of moaning and the 2 girls looked naked
someone suggested it was probably because it was late night TV i was watching which doesn't make sense because even while we call late night SBS shows porn they just have alot of explicit nudity. but it can't be that because FUJI TV streams japanese television almost at real time (from my understanding) and Japan is only a couple of hours behind Australia
@Memor-X sounds like you have a subconscious fear of ppl judging you (even if you are alone) for the yuri you enjoy so much. Seems like you want to keep work abd hobbies separate, but are afraid that ppl will interpret your yuri preference as perversion simply due to a one off showing of borderline content
Such a fear is common and there will be an implicit bias no matter where you go, unfortunately. It's easy for people to condemn something they don't understand, simply because they don't like it.
@кяαzєя The fear is reasonable though. In some industries, employers don't want to be associated with anybody that does anything that could give them a bad name.
In most cases, they don't care what you do as long as it's legal and isn't against the company's interests. But if it gets out and gives them a bad name, then you might get terminated.
Of course, the line between what's acceptable and what isn't is very fuzzy. Yuri and Yaoi may be fine in the more progressive leaning companies, but it isn't something you'd want to advertise in a more conservative work environment. OTOH, if you're straight out into pure hentai or pedophilia, then you can probably bet that almost any company that isn't the adult entertainment industry will either terminate you or at least want you shut the hell up and keep it to yourself.
(assuming you haven't already breached any laws)
@Memor-X That doesn't work for everyone though. Personally, I have a "back office" job, but I get enough publicity from my internet presence anyway. And at this point, it's inseparable from my professional life. So there are plenty of eyes on me regardless.
@Memor-X Correct. So in the case of me, the news is out that I'm the, "Pi guy". And the one with the highest voted answer on SO. And I work for XXX company. IOW, if I screw up in some way, the whole world is gonna know. And will know that I work for XXX company.
The highest voted answer on SO thing doesn't really matter to the general public. But I'm finding out that it's apparently kind of a big deal among the software developer community - which is really the community that matters the most as far as what I do for a living.
@Mysticial i see, i don't think i've said who i am working with but i know i haven't linked to them on SO so no one can go "oh, Memor-X works for ####### so his actions must represent them". not because i'm a afraid of doing something that'll look negative to the company but because the company has this whole section in the yearly training on conflict of interest and representation
sure, work may know Memor-X is me because i log in at work, but the outside world wouldn't
@Memor-X Yeah, my UN, "Mysticial" started off as just a personal online thing. But over the years, thanks in part to SO, it's irreversibly tied with my real name and thus my professional life.
@Memor-X Let's just say hypothetically that I murder someone.
@Mysticial i see. i think my problem in understanding that is that if i met you in real life, unless i was told who you were on SO then the very most that could happen is that you look like your avatar and i'd go "you sorta look like the avatar of someone on SO"
@Memor-X I get that a lot at work. Every once in a while, there will be someone who will draw that connection between my SO account and the me that works in the same department. And they'll point it out to me.
Well, watching any variety of pornography at work would get you in trouble I imagine. I mean that is the primary reason why we have that N.S.F.W. abbreviation.
@Tonepoet true and now-a-days any employment contract specifies using the internet for pornography is not allowed
funny enough when i was doing a networking course in university out teacher was telling us this story about his friend who was a network engineer who was called up by a user to investigate a slow down in their traffic
the engineer worked out the cause of the problem and told the user that it'll fix itself up, the user didn't like it and berated the engineer infront of other staff about being lazy and what not, so the engineer, infront of everyone, told the user the reason why there was a slow down was because they were copying GBs of porn across the network
this was back when companies didn't so much bothered to watch network traffic and from what our teacher said the user got fired for that. it was a lesson on network monitoring and how you don't piss off the people who monitor and maintain it
In episode 11 of Selector Spread Wixoss, Yuki started to disappear because, according to Mayu, she broke the contract of being an eternal girl by not keeping her wish to make Iona "Not Iona anymore." But she's not an eternal girl anymore, she's an LRIG, so she shouldn't be bound to keeping other...
it seems that going into extremes (or at least creating a public image of that) is one way people cope with the discomfort of doing something, even slightly out of the norm
that's what kids do, and most adults don't grow out of these childish pretenses quickly enough to act it out believably enough to fool most people
I've seen people defend themselves with phrases like "oh yea, I'm such a huge perv" after shily admitting they like something pretty vanilla
that's a pretty common reaction and overplaying
in short, giant pervs are rare, everyone pretends vanilla stuff is super perverted because everyone is very shy
@ASCII-only image urls contain the hash at the end of them and most of these danbooru sites support image search by hash
it's supposed to only return one result obviously, but that's how it works
However I don't know if "norm is everyone's vanilla" is accurate though. But that might be just caused by the fact that a lot of people around me are people who are anything but normal.
ok, revised main menu taking in some of the feedback. had to redo the window class and the graphics because messing with the class produced strange side affects with the partially transparent border
any more freeback? anything to do with the windowskin i would like to know now because the status menu, as i once showed before, has different coloured ones for each character so i can't be changing that now and then chnage it again later down the line because that's 20 windowskins i have to re-edit
(and no i can't just program hue changes because Re's isn't just a hue change, her scheme is Black and Gold)
@Gallifreyan well supposedly they would make one to fit their height. So if the design is like that, if the person is shorter. they would make it shorter now wouldn't they?
unless, of course that person is wearing the exact same dress
but that would make them look.. not as good, probably
The Question is simple like the title said (again). I've been searching the whole youtube and internet and soundcloud but won't get an easy hand to it, so please help. (again, gosh i'm the worst version of indiana jones)
So thanks very much for those who wanted to help, really...
i do mean it......
As I watch more anime I kind of noticed this: some ok-looking shows have a lot of animators while other really good-looking shows don't.
For example, Violet Evergarden and Sora yori mo Tooi Basho are two shows from Winter 2018, and the number of key animators and inbetweeners differ so much.
Vi...
I was just wondering if there was any significance to the cross (like someone has put an 'x' across the picture) on certain manga covers. I noticed it recently with the titles"Vamprie Chan x Junior Chan", "Koi Desu Ga Koi Jenai", and "Domestic Girlfriend". I haven't read any of these titles, so I...
people here might know but uh, I own elixi.re. If anyone needs an image host for images that'll be posted with taisho, please lmk, I'd love to give you access.
Akagi live action adaptation was great. If you've seen the anime and like watching grown up man fight to death on a board game like me, check it out, it basically completes the last arc of the anime.
In the fight with Noumu, since Noumu was as strong as All Might and it was made to battle All Might at 100%, All Might has to punch him with over 100% of his power. And in the last episode of My Hero Academia (Season 3, Episode 4)
Does this mean One for All give unlimited power? Or how can the...
