I think japan is solving the first part rather well by making entertaining and educating anime and manga

better as in "meh its normal" and worse as in"I have all these and MORE, real issues."

idk what to do about the second part honestly

I've only had personal experience with studying at a regular school so I have nothing to compare with

perhaps studying in smaller classes or individually would be better

maybe kids should be moved between classes with specialization often

determine interests, evaluate progress, etc

also textbook material is not enough by itself most of the time, and teachers are not cool enough to explain it despite its flaws a lot of the time

education ministry seems slow to get with the times and fund some better textbooks and teacher making facilities

also the final exams are a joke with the dramatically varying level of policing the students in different schools

guess this is why so many universities still have their own entrance exams

but ye, school education sucks

I think that I feel depressed for because everyone expects everything from me, and I want to do my shit too, and I don't have time for all. I don't want to turn people down, but I do, that is a part of this. The other part is like "Everyone can do it, everyone can learn it, I can't" and some other stuff about expectations of communities and stuff.

I want to be able to be free, to do stuff that'll make me happy, but people are all like "NO. YOU GOTTA BE HAPPY MY WAY.", sorry, but I don't enjoy learning history. Studying some stuff I'll never use in my life.

everyone who has enough time can learn something, but they'll need a lot more time to master it

also if you have some community which you think you're letting down, you might have success with sharing your thoughts with them and they'll say "we get it, this is your hobby, real life priorities matter the most, we still love you"

remember that even if you find all the perfect things to say back, to absolutely defeat any argument with factual evidence, the other side might not want to accept it despite knowing you are 100% correct, so this is a rather pointless deal

I don't know anything about your situation with your mom but chances are high that she worries about you in the only way she can, and you can only do what you can, so maybe you could try, knowing that, showing that you understand her concerns (remember that a lot of the time people don't say what they mean because this is how manipulation n such works), and be cool and calm, tell her that you love her and she might ease up on you (not guaranteed but happens pretty often in my experience)

try asking very straightforward questions like "what do you want me to do?" and "how do you want me to do it?" and eventually "why this way and not the other"

for example why do math? it's probably because you'd get better grades, and therefore have higher chance getting into a good uni, etc, but you're doing what you'll actually be doing way down the line, at the actual work, and it's much more important than math in this ordeal

I'm getting a bit ahead of myself, I forgot to mention you should only explain her all that if you actually believe in it yourself

otherwise it might not work for various reasons

and it might set up a horrible precedent of "I told you so" when your plan fails

@Hakase not to bad, typical life stresses, but that's nothing new. ATM I'm currently in the process of learning some python.. taking the MIT 6.00x course (MOOC). Just trying to learn new things and improve myself as best as I can in my current situation and state.

the past 2 years haven't been too kind to me, and have left me wondering what my future holds, I am unable to do the line of work I was in now, so I pretty much have to start over with a new career, which is overwhelming, and just frankly something not easy to accomplish. Not to say that learning python will help me AT ALL... but It gives me a goal and something to work against. And for now, thats better than nothing. plus it's something I've always wanted to have knowledge of...

and will help me in future learning, developing cognitive skills, and better creative problem solving habits.

it's not going to be easy for me. but i'll put in my best effort. :D

TL;DR ~essentially just battling my physical and mental hurdles one day at a time. so yeah i'm 'busy' haha

the example tasks will overlap a lot and knowing more than one language helps a lot
