well, i like anime that have good character development to the point where antagonists become friends nearly, for example sasuke leaving and then naruto getting him back, i also really like epic anime, like for example, bleach, dbz, and i really like good story and art style

those look like fixed regions, and very small

that might be TERRIBLY slow, but give me a minute

afaik bottlenecks were the method of getting the current frame (basically screenshotting the entire screen) and calculating average color (depends on region size a lot)

so probably see if you can get some way to draw the video on a hidden d3d surface and "screenshot" it instead

or even make a virtual display and use it as secondary

but instead of screenshotting anything, perform color calculations directly with the texture
