@ton.yeung "will start adding content in the next few days" i would have some content up already, at the very least i would have already set up the Widgets, Navigation Menu and first post

@ton.yeung locally you finalize everything, get to review if your theme is exactly what you needed and the Widgets work with it then you deploy. avoids the hassle of when something goes wrong, ie. you find out that a particular Widget is broken because of how your theme works

i don't know. just how i have been taught in programming

@ton.yeung yeh but a theme can break even stock functionality. the theme i was working on kept increase the backend's edit post box by 40px for ever key/mouse press. took be an hour to work out that the cause was the default css from the front end which some themes lazily include in the blackened to try and make the WYSIWYG editior represent the front end

@ton.yeung well i'm just saying because that doesn't look like one of the stock themes. all i remember is that Wordpress comes with like 3 stock themes which will work

I feel like the entire concept of metacritic is absurd. They take a bunch of subjective ratings, already 1 step removed from the original work, give them subjective weights, and come out with their own ratings which are 2 steps removed. At least with a single reviewer, you can attempt to try to figure out their biases, but metacritic averages in all sorts of garbage, and so their end result is just more garbage.

These days we have too many people trying to give ratings to subjective things anyway, despite the fact that people are generally very inconsistent in ratings with more than 3 options. For whatever reason, our culture is fixated on the idea that numbers are credible, and so people try to rate their subjective experiences with numbers, despite the fact that this only make them less credible in any objective sense.

I don't trust anyone's ratings who prefers to express them as numbers rather than adjectives.
