@Frosteeze don't know, they did offer a bunch of IT jobs but they were all in Sydney which would mean i would have to move. i'm finding it hard to find an IT Job in Ballarat which is where i live close to

there's also a bunch of IT Developed Jobs in Melbourne that are even advertised on Stack Careers like a Madman one for a Magento Front End Developer but that's a 2 hour commute and Melbourne Traffic is really bad, to avoid it i would have to get into the city early and leave really late

if the commute wasn't a problem i would have called up Madman to see if the position was still available or even call up Hanabee, even if i am not a developer there at least i'm surrounded by anime and they could use some staff to work fulltime even when the rest of them go off to convention and have to shut down

@LoganM with the major cities like Melborune and Syndey even if you reduce the commute you still have to commute into the city which has been proven to be bad and getting far worse.

also i currently live in a mortgage free house, not really enthusiastic to start another mortgage, even renting is expensive as i could end up paying what i pay now a month ($700) every 2 weeks

Your choice of course, but my perspective on it is somewhat different. If you save an hour commuting each way every day, that's an extra week's worth of wasted work-time every month that you save (assuming 40 hours per week). Commuting is pretty much completely wasted time, and there isn't any way to get that time back. I'd gladly pay a bit more in rent to avoid it.

@ton.yeung with remoting too many distractions at home + family always demands my full attention for tech support, regardless what i am doing. with flex schedules that's Causal Employment in Australia and employers don't need to give you notice to sack you, fulltime they do (at least 30 days)

@ton.yeung we can still have that but it's a law in Australia that full time you need 30 days notice to quit or be terminated regardless of contract (also contract can't veto it). part-time i think it's 2 week for the first 6 months

@ton.yeung actually we don't have that firewall. just a new propsed bill to allow Meta data to be kept and a precedent for ISPs to hand over customer details to foreign companies if they are suspected of torrenting.

I believe the existing web filter in Australia is mandatory for ISPs to offer, but users are allowed to enable or disable it.

The blacklist was leaked a few years back so presumably we could test this.

It's weighted so that if you have more than 500, it doesn't increase the chance of picking one of your images over someone else with only 500.

So right now I have 2558, while (for example) JNat only has about 100. If it were purely random it would pick mine 25x as much as his, but with the weighting it's only 5x as much.

The weighting only affects people with over 500 images, assuming it's implemented the way I think it is. So effectively @Eric and I are maxed out right now. Uploading more doesn't increase the probability that our images would be posted over someone else's.

Anyway, with the system as it is right now, if I want to still have images when @Eric runs out, I need to be beating him by (on average) $500 H_{500} \approx 3396$ images right now, where $H_N$ is the Nth harmonic number. Of course, that's assuming neither of us uploads more before those are used, so in practice it's not a very useful number, but still maybe a reasonable goal.
