Huh? Who would've thought that esata port multiplier required the right driver...

Ran in an issue where my machine would only see one of the drives in the dual-slot enclosure for Anime.

And I knew the port had a port multiplier since it worked before I reinstalled the system.

@ton personally I would build it click-only, I feel swipes & etc should be restricted to apps rather than websites. You might have some exceptions where its better to do that though

That's just personal taste tho

Browsers have their own gesture support which can conflict with your sites

I don't really see the issue for when you're on the desktop, why would the desktop experience change depending on your mobile experience

The desktop version can disregard swipe interaction though, with CSS breakpoints & etc you can make it suited to PC users - so I don't see why what you have on mobile is making problems for you there

Some projects will require a high focus on mobile interaction, whereas some will not. Sites can still work without a mobile version, if functionality is the focus.

Which is a full fledged shitstorm at the moment.

And if form is the focus, then the choice is pretty cut-and-dry.

If you're building a site for a specific company and they use IE6, you develop for IE6.

If you focus on mobile first, it'll work well on mobile, and still well on desktop.

@ton.yeung UX first, but that's because I totally hate anything that isn't as convenient as it can be and try to make it better either myself or by asking its creators

also it highly depends on the purpose of the site

if it's just to attract visitors, it has to be nice first

if it's gonna be used by many people, it has to be convenient

and there's no reason why you can't have a nice mobile app separately from the main website which can be accessed by both desktop and mobile browsers

although app has to have something to offer in addition to the mobile version of the site accessible via browser or there's no point in it, obviously

is Digimon really that good?

Digimon was fun when I watched it as a kid (imo)

It's kind of like pokémon I guess, but didn't catch on as well

They went a little overboard on all the transformations, imo, but, well, what can you do, with powercreep and all that, to keep charactes relevant

In pokémon they fixed it by just making everything even in strength, sort of, regardless of form. But a little fluffball doesn't usually defeat a giant dragon demon thing

I don't know about the Dimigon series… I checked out the most recent Pokemon series' first episode and wasn't very interested to find out what happened next

some new region, new gyms, new badges which Ash didn't have

and the first gym tells Ash to go away because he has no badges from this region

You can't really compare the two..

I suppose by now he's got about a million badges from various other regions which has to amount to something in other regions… I just have too many questions about the logic of the pokemon trainer world

ok I'll watch a few episodes of Digimon and see if it gets me interested

but something tells me any other anime series will feel better

I've still got many good ones in my "to watch" list
