Anime and manga fans outside of Japan have adopted many Japanese words and phrases. Some of these words have been misinterpreted, reinterpreted or undergone significant change in meaning. In addition, a variety of terms relating to anime and manga and the associated fandom have arisen, either by translation/transliteration from Japanese or as part of the shared slang or jargon of the subculture.
In some cases English and Japanese have contributed in complex ways to the formation of new words in either or both languages (e.g. Hentai—"H"—Ecchi).

Onodera Yoshimichi (小野寺義道) (1566-1645) was the son of Onodera Terumichi (minor Daimyo of the Dewa province).
Yoshimichi was the lord of Omori Castle, and a longtime rival of the clan Megumi. Yoshimichi himself later became a Daimyo of the Dewa. During the year 1594, Mogami Yoshikaira, an old enemy of Yoshimichi, deceived him into punishing one of his chief retainers. This deception greatly affected the unity among the retainers.

YuruYuri (ゆるゆり, lit. Easygoing Yuri) is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Namori. The series began serialization in Ichijinsha's Comic Yuri Hime S magazine from June 12, 2008, before being moved over to Comic Yuri Hime in September 2010. An anime adaptation by Dogakobo aired in Japan between July and September 2011; a second season aired between July and September 2012. An original video animation is currently in production by TYO Animations. A spin-off web manga, Ohmuroke (大室家, Ōmuroke), began release on Nico Nico Seiga in July 2012.
