Personally, I think that the anime is one of my top 5 of all time.

I have somewhat strange tastes though. I think most people wouldn't put it that high.

I don't actually have solid ranks, but it's clear to me that there aren't more than 4 anime which I liked more than HS DxD.

For populist, it seems like that could cause problems. For example if the accepted answer gets even 1 more upvote before the badge script runs, while the unaccepted one doesn't, he won't get the badge.

That could be very annoying for the close cases like this.

And since the question is on top of the multicollider it would not be unusual for both answers to get a bunch more upvotes.

IMO it makes it too much a game of chance.

@Eric It could be if their data is poorly structured. It needs to fetch 2 vote counts, namely that of the top voted answer and that of the accepted answer. I don't think that should be very expensive, but even the nice question/answer badges don't run that way so it could be worse than I think. Also, they should probably run it on downvotes too, in case the accepted answer gets one.

@LoganM Considering they load those all on every page load (unlike the totals which load only on click), I would say it's not an expensive operation.

BTW it did manage to get the badge this time, but it's even closer than when I checked. When I checked it was 72/35, but when it got the badge the votes were at 73/36. That's pretty much as close as it can get.

I guess it also needs to do some arithmetic (easiest is probably an addition) and a comparison. That would be a few million more operations per day, which is in the grand scheme of things probably not anywhere near significant.

@Eric I looked into the drop in traffic yesterday in more detail. It turns out that the reason is that you're comparing the morning vs evening traffic numbers which are not directly comparable. If I look at my stats, which were taken at the same time every day, I see no change in traffic over the past 3 days (since we hit 2004 V/D)

@LoganM Yeah, I realized that after as well. It was 2,048 this morning, I think, which is a 4- or 5-person drop, which is not significant compared to the previous 2,052 or 2,053. Are you using morning or evening for the stats?
