there are lots of works that have considerable worldbuilding, so it ought to be possible to write answers arguing for one particular possibility or another using existing canon information

I assumed that the 8 gates would damage the chakra coils, which is damage that the Creation Rebirth can't heal, but apparently the reason the 8 gates is harmful is because of physical damage?

@ahiijny Unlike the worldbuilding subdomain, Anime S.E. questions typically follow an existing narrative, so you should explain which parts of the narrative support your hypothesis. E.G. "In episode 6 Clefairy and the Moon Stone Seymour the Scientist hypothesized that the Clefairy came from space..."

it looks like the anime is trash line comes from the part where he's talking about otaku. stating he isn't one and that otaku don't learn. i'll have to get a full script or reply the movie to get the exact lines but the footage seems to be the same

Are fillers "approved" by the original author (i.e. the mangaka) or do studios just write fillers and hope for the best?

@Tonepoet i think it would then be a matter of if the original author is going to consider the filler canon

like if the book i'm writing ended up getting animated and they had fillers i would rather be consulted so i could adapt it into the canon at some other point if i so choose to

In the case of Chrono Cross it doesn't matter so much, since the series wasn't meant to be continued. Also, naturally consultation is preferable, but part of the point is to avoid empty air time, so it might not be an option. It's best if you've planned out the plot far in advance of the anime, to minimize the odds of major inconsistencies.
