@mirroroftruth yeh, sometimes i can agree with you in terms of what @Taisho post but unless someone else has been uploading to 百合 then we yhave to trust @LoganM's judgement

anyway to my understanding there is shoujo ai/yuri elements in Saki. it's sorta like Nanoha and K-On where you can see parings but it's mainly the fandom which you see the parings in action

'speaking on K-On, after airing 2 Extra Episode ABC 3 is now airing Season 2....which is more than they did with Naruto

another one involves images of characters… we actually almost had this game done by one user at one point but then it got scrapped

an image of a random famous character is taken from some online anime image hosting, like danbooru

the image is then obscured by rectangles randomly up to ~80% and pieces are gradually revealed until somebody guesses who that is

images are uploaded to imgur and posted as image links

this is relatively easy to do in c#

I think we should have those ideas posted somewhere everyone can see them and propose changed or post more ideas

perhaps on meta as "games for the cafe ideas" or something

PHP was never a great language to begin with, and while PHP 7 does introduce some improvements, it will never be a real player

The reason most websites are powered by PHP today is that most websites are trivial, WordPress based websites with absolutely zero regards to development or maintenance

Most web applications today are written by either Java or NodeJS

And Java is on the decline, while NodeJS is on the rise.

nodejs excels in web applications (servers), websockets and asynchronous networking, and it's also great at CLI applications

I don't know much about IT so excuse my lack of knowledge :p

There is the NW.js project that also allows for cross-platform GUI applications, but I haven't tried it

The vast majority of usecases for Node is server-side programming

i.e. it's a replacement for PHP (not exactly, but sort of)

PHP is also a server-sided language, but it doesn't stand on its own. It has to be attached as a tumor to Apache or Nginx

Also, PHP can be used for writing CLIs, although I've been there, the result is usually horrifying.

NodeJS is capable of starting an HTTP server, binding a port, and running instantly

NodeJS is basically JavaScript + modules + extra API (for filesystem, HTTP server, sockets, etc)

Where modules is trivial to understand, and extra API has reference and documentation

So you basically need to nail the JavaScritp part :P

That's the only thing you need to "know"
