I thought it was, since our games usually ended up different by a turn or two, but I don't really know.

If it's completely deterministic, a good program can just read off the optimal sequence of moves.

Doesn't need to know anything about the mechanisms of the game.

There's definitely no random, but it didn't feel deterministic.

In the end, we could have done better by recording PPCG's move sequence and copying it.
