Q: Why are lawyers typically excluded from juries?

At least in the United States practicing lawyers are called to serve on juries. But my understanding is at least one side will always remove them before trial. Why would it always be the case that at least one side would not want someone with legal training on a jury?

It isn't just lawyers. Most people with advanced degrees or technical specializations will get out of most jury trials, because at least one (often both) of the sides intends to attempt to mislead the jurors, and having people who know what they're doing makes that harder.
