so i am current seeing if i can get another job. the one i am at now has some problems. aside from the fact the place is way too quite (ie hardly any banter) but at the end of the month the boss, project manager, the boss's son and some other person plan to go to PAX. the boss said he can cover admission fees if we go otherwise we take the day off
the problem with that is that either way theres no work and i dont get paid. if i wanted to go to a convention like PAX i would save my paid annual leave to do it and use it.
@Frosteeze in Australia you can get time off paid but that's called Annual Leave and normally you get 2 weeks a year. however causal employment you don't get that so i have to wait 6 months before i can start accumulating annual leave. but the problem is that i loose a day of pay just because alot of people want to go to PAX
at my previous job 2 of my colleges went to PAX by using their annual leave and one was the team leader
things didn't just suddenly stop to the point i cant work and not get paid
but maybe it's because where i work now is a small place with 4 devs, 1 QA, 1 Designer, 1 Accountant and 2 Help Desk and the Boss while at my previous place it was an australian wide business. but still i don't like how my choice to work or not was taken away from me
