10:01 PM
@JNat Pick the one you like

@Krazer I've used @Eric's

jikan douri desu~

@Krazer what does that mean?
is jikan next time?

It's Sion's catchphrase "it's right with my calculations/it's right on time"

I think it means "Now is the time". But I'm not sure.
I was close!

10:04 PM
This is how I can tell that most of the top users on this sight are guys

@kuwaly lol
I don't mind finding pictures of cute guys to post, too, but I don't feel like we'll draw in as big of an audience if we do that.

@Eric yes, agreed

I found the Miki one almost immediately, but then I decided to go look at some other Miki pics because she is gorgeous. Then I came back and you guys had already decided without me ToT

@Eric looks the flavor event next week will be "hot guys." We're all changing our status to indicate we're fujoushi ("rotten")

Oh well uploading anyway because it has Miki

10:06 PM
@LoganM :D

omg this ^^

@Krazer xD
@LoganM I'll put that on the G+ post.

\o/

@LoganM I'll change to that one
sorry @Eric XD

10:10 PM
lol

I just made a post trying to promote us on an anime group on FB, let's see how that turns out~

Don't get banz0red.

Off topic: Here's Big Data's closing announcement meta post. Once it started getting viewed by more users it got more responses. This will probably be my last screencap of this post before the site gets closed down tomorrow.

10:33 PM
Live and let live, I guess. I'm thinking all those questios will be dumped on SO.

@Mysticial Probably SO because I think the Big Data questions are more practical.

"more practical" - LOL

They're not so much conceptual or science-based, more focused on implementation.

Currently no announcements as to what's happening to the questions. It seems like they're intending not to move most of them.

10:36 PM
@Mysticial What? Big data is practical. lol

The only thing close to a proposed migration on their meta is to DBA, and that's at -1 right now (and probably mostly off-topic).

Yeah, I wouldn't recommend DBA for those questions. I mean, I haven't seen them, but it cannot possibly apply to the practice in general.

@Eric Here's 15 of their question titles (didn't feel like copying all 36, but 15 should be pretty representative)
How do I set up a Big Data analytic system that uses python as the main language?
Any problem with using DataStax Community Edition?
Introducing R into a Big Data workflow
What is a good cluster coordination solution?
How to check the log of an infoprovider during a process chain run
A practical data size threshold for processing data with AWS Hadoop
Planning for big data: Early warning signs for transactional loads?
Output of Hive query into S3 fails sometimes
Are there abstraction layers for NoSQL like there are for SQL?

Yeah, definitely SO. A handful of those could be DBA, and some maybe even CS.SE, but I think they'd all be on topic on SO. (Except maybe the DataStax one.)

In any case they only have 36 questions total, so it wouldn't even make a dent on any of those sites. It's probably not even worth a mass-migration, as the important stuff probably exists elsewhere already.

10:43 PM
well people, I'm off
cya tomorrow

@JNat See ya.

@JNat cya

@LoganM That's true, I'm not sure what the migration rules are in terms of quantity.
The site is quiet today...

@Eric The team is willing to do a mass-migration for sites where almost all of their questions are appropriate on another site. Sometimes they state their intent to do so at the beginning (like with Arduino) while in other cases they have to be asked to do so (like with Theoretical Physics). Questions can also typically be migrated to a couple of sites individually.
However, no one on Big Data posted a request to do so, so they're likely just going to close the site with the questions on it. In that case, they'll be available via a final database dump, but won't be searchable or easily accessible.

Yeah, that's the thing. If they get migrated, at least the data is available to the average user.

10:47 PM
@Eric We've gotten a decent number of answers, but almost no new questions.

@LoganM Yeah. Only 1 in the last 24h.

@Eric It won't happen unless someone requests them to do so in the next <24 hours, and a SE employee sees it in time and agrees with it.
In the grand scheme of things, 36 questions isn't a big loss either. SO probably has that many questions incorrectly deleted every week.
