@nitsua60 I'm hoping to give a good combat encounter pretty early in the first session to get the newer players a bit jazzed up and excited. any good ideas for that?
Things I've come up with include:
• an encounter with orcs/goblins/generic bad guy on the way to Syndra's
• A rampant dino in the harbor when they arrive (perhaps spooked by the teleportation)
• The teleport going astray and landing them a hex or two outside port nyanzaru and/or fort beluarian, forcing a small bit of travel and an encounter.
• Some encounter with zhents and/or a yuan-ti pureblood spy in port nyanzaru
They all seem a bit forced to me though, except the third, which feels like it could go totally wrong, letting them wander aimlessly in the jungles
