I don't use Lubuntu but I assume QTFM was for Qt. (LXQt=LXDE+Qt)

Sorry, you are of course correct. I meant to ask about QTFM vs. PCManFM-Qt. I'm wondering if PCManFM-Qt was created in order to have a consistent transition from LXDE (which uses the original GTK+ version of PCManFM) to LXQt, or if it provides advantages not to be found in QTFM.

I don't know the difference, but QtFM 6.2.0 is the latest release which was released an year ago.
