Q: I propose a sandbox for answers

Gary 2Similar to Sandbox for proposed questions I propose a sandbox for answers.

Posted an answer on that but just going to say that sounds overly complicated and a massive amount of work for anyone that wants to review an answer

I really liked Donald J. Trump as President of The United States of America I don't see him returning as President again though. Why was his performance as President analysed so negatively?
You me besides things such as trashing relations with allies and trying to make friends with dictators? Or denying that there is a pandemic and suggest we can cure it by injecting bleach?
Seriously @JoeW that is your opinion of Donald J. Trump's rule as President. I am really unhappy about that opinion man I don't see the truth there almost at all.
It isn't an opinion he made a lot of allies unhappy and he did suggest injecting bleach
No I think that bleach thing. That was totally mis-understood nonsense not true at all really. Sorry but I completely disagree.
With the allies it would be hard to find more unfriendly allies if it was even possible at all.
It's really sad to see that a President of The United States of America can be valued so little by so many people especially by so many Americans towards their own leader.
Just because you think they are unfriendly doesn't mean we should work to make them dislike us
I mean how horrible of a person do you have to be to deny there is a pandemic and trash everyone who says otherwise including everyone that works for you
Claim you are hiring the best people until something bad shows up and claim you never knew them
And you just hired them to give them a chance
Or claim that the only way you can lose an election is fraud well before the election even starts

It just does not add up to me JoeW. Perhaps you believe what you are writing in this chat. As much as I appreciate your views I absolutely don't get them myself. I have heard similar things mentioned by other analysts of the President however I just can't get round to believing them yet. I just can't do it seriously
Please stop pinging me
You don't need to ping me when you respond
Yes it does add up
Trump is rated as one of the worst presidents ever
Just because you can't believe it doesn't mean others feel the same way
And just coming to a chat to complain isn't going to convince anyone of anything
Other than considering you a troll
Are you calling me a troll?
I don't live in the USA. There's no insider opinion with me. I'm actually from the UK.
Honestly though from what I saw as an outsider to the US from the UK I would be absolutely honoured to have had Donald J. Trump as our King or even as our Prime Minister.
I appreciate though. That you JoeW definitely do not feel the same way as me.
Well you are the one that started this all and questioned what was said in response
Acting if there is nothing in between
Steady on now JoeW!
And now you are flagging my messages because I am pointing out that you go to extremes?
The simple fact is you seem to be all in on Trump and hating on Biden even though you claim to not live in the country and just having outsider knowledge
20:33
Ok, let's just all calm down. @JoeW I'd suggest you just step away from the room for a bit. @AnilLondon I suggest you do the same, and if you'd like to continue the discussion afterwards, you do so respectfully and without trying to start a flame war
Again you don't have to ping me when we are in a converstation
And you can step away as well
@JoeW I think you've got me confused with Anil
Okay but please stop pinging me
Is my preference on not being pinged not clear enough?
This conversation is going nowhere productive if you're just going to continue attacking people. @Dudecoinheringaahing is being perfectly reasonable here, and if you hate being pinged that much, you can disable the sound notification or just step away from SE chat.
How?
If I knew how to do that I would have done it already
20:35
You can mute your tab in most modern browsers by right-clicking it
You can click on the speaker icon in the top right corner (to the left of "all rooms" and "site rooms") and change your sound settings.
Or you can just mute the tab itself.
21:06
Having to turn mute on and off based on me chatting or not isn't a really good solution to unneeded pings as chat is happening
And serious question here. Calling someone a Biden lover because they don't like Trump is okay but suggesting someone is a troll for that massive leap of logic with no middle ground is not?
Well, you can politely ask people to not ping you but using replies in conversation is something people do and unless they are blatantly spamming for no purpose other than to irritate a user then muting the sound is the best thing you can do, or just stepping away from chat if it actually bothers you so much.
Also, being wrong isn't against the code of conduct. Attacking other users is. And even if someone violates the code of conduct, the correct response isn't to do the same back, it is to just report it and step away yourself.
I did ask about the pings
@JoeW Instead of using terms such as "troll", which attack someone personally, may I suggest pointing out logical fallacies in their statements? Unlike people, statements don't have feelings.
@AnilLondon Not to keep beating on this but as an outsider you are not likely to see the things he did on a daily basis. Such as claiming a hurricane is going to hit a state when the predictions said it would not. Instead of admitting he made a mistake he held a press conference where he presented an map that was with an altered hurricane path to show that it hit the state.

@JoeW We get the news too. Even sharpiegate had it's own coverage with titles like (translated by me): State meteorologists US must bow for Donald Trump's black pen and Trump cheats with map to show he's right about hurricane Dorian's trajection.
That's in addition to the US news and comedy shows which are available, for example on YouTube. For example, did you know that the controversy actually extended to NOAA issuing a statement backing up the president? As that Wikipedia link continues, a subsequent investigation showed that statement was a response to orders from the White House.
Yes, you do get the news but I sure hope you didn't get the non stop coverage that we got.

Yea I guess it's about what you choose to read / watch. In my case the Youtube algorithms put a lot of the late night shows in my recommendations, and with the great absurdities they were well worth watching. I think our national news service had maybe one or two news articles about the US a day when there wasn't anything special. I think that's still the case, now it's a lot about Afghanistan but also how that intersects with the US angle.
For example, US troops didn't let many people enter the airport in Kabul so some of our translators couldn't reach the flight. It left with about 40 people.
23:42
Yah we really screwed over a lot of translators and others who helped us throughout the last couple of decades
JJJ
JJJ
Yea, don't know about the US, but here it's also citizens who work there for NGOs and the like. Apparently the embassy only warned a few days before the Taliban reached Kabul, not a lot of time to book a new ticket and leave. And now Kabul is already controlled by the Taliban so even reaching the airport is difficult. Then getting in is a second obstacle.
Problem is that a lot of them had work in progress to get into the US but that was put on hold during the Trump years
And honestly if Trump could ever admit that he was wrong he could have done a much better job
JJJ
JJJ
Yea same here, they need all sorts of documentation and only yesterday (I think?) did they relax some requirements. I guess the problem is that most people in government assume someone else is on it. For example, the whole thing about security is lead by the US, so I don't think anyone from other countries has thought about it. If they had, they might have thought to leave some convoys so they can go get people and fly out with a full plane. Now the best they can do is get them on a video call.
In the end though, I guess it's the right call to pull out. The current approach didn't work and most of the efforts at nation building seem to have been for nothing.
23:58
Well the call to pull out was something that Trump negotiated and was supposed to happen earlier this year but we negotiated to delay it
And while I think leaving is a good thing we needed to make sure it was stable when we left
